ToiToiToi is just one of several aliases for Sebastian Counts, a Berlin-based musician and conceptual artist, who in recent years is increasingly found in the German countryside where he strolls through woods and wetlands to track down the myths of the landscape that feed his artistic work both visually and musically. He’s a regular member of the Ghost Box Records roster, having released two albums for the very distinctive UK label.
His quirky, melodic & inventive electronica is utterly unique. The synthesised and sampled sound palette draws on early music, ethnographic recordings and TV soundtracks to plunge the listener into a surreal, witty and richly entertaining world.
"Toi toi toi", pronounced "toy toy toy", is a traditional good luck wish especially in the opera, equivalent to "break a leg".
