Spy Glass Blue is an American post-punk and new wave band from Dallas, Texas, formed in 1995 by Allan Aguirre. They released a self-titled vinyl EP, Spy Glass Blue (1995), shortly after formation and followed it with the album Shadows (1996). Due to record label issues, widespread distribution of Shadows did not occur until 1997. This debut album showcased a gothic rock style that ranged from light and airy to dark and haunting. Their music featured deep lyrics with hidden meanings, as exemplified by the song "Stygan", which explores the dangers of stumbling in faith. In 2001, they released the album Loud As Feathers (2001), which leaned more toward David Bowie’s vocal style than Peter Murphy’s. Other releases include The Blue EP (2003). Throughout their career, they contributed significantly to the post-punk genre within Christian alternative music, often compared to bands like Scaterd Few and Mortal.
