Drautran, a German pagan metal band from Kiel, Schleswig-Holstein, was formed in 1996. The group released their debut demo Unter dem Banner der Nordwinde in 2000, which they produced and distributed independently. This initial release was limited to 1,000 copies but was reissued in 2009 by Lupus Lounge as a Digipak with new artwork. Drautran's first full-length album Throne of the Depths followed in 2007 under Lupus Lounge and Prophecy Productions. The band's music is characterized by its blend of Norwegian black metal influences, traditional folklore, and melodic elements, often incorporating acoustic and folk passages. Notable songs include "Prolog: Die Seidr-Kunst" from Unter dem Banner der Nordwinde and "Gen Niflheim..." from Throne of the Depths. The band's themes revolve around Norse mythology, death, and existence.
