Sopa de Cabra was a Spanish rock ensemble formed in 1986 in Girona. The group's founding members included vocalist Gerard Quintana, guitarist Josep Thió, bassist Francesc Lisicic, guitarist Joan Cardona, and drummer Josep Bosch. The band released its eponymous debut studio recording, Sopa de Cabra, in 1989, which featured the tracks "L'Empordà" and "El boig de la ciutat". The ensemble followed with the album La Roda in 1990. In 1991, the group recorded the live album Ben endins and performed at the Palau Sant Jordi. The band released the Spanish-language album Mundo infierno in 1993. Its later discography included the recordings Al·lucinosi (1994) and Plou i fa sol (2001). The ensemble became inactive in 2001 following a farewell tour. Post-disbandment releases included the live recording Bona nit, malparits! (2002) and El llarg viatge (2003). The group reunited in 2011 for its twenty-fifth anniversary and resumed activity in 2015, releasing the albums Cercles (2015), La gran onada (2020), and Ànima (2024). Cardona died on 20 January 2002.
