Australian rock band Kisschasy, from Melbourne, Victoria, formed in 2002. The group consisted of lead vocalist Darren Cordeux, bassist Joel Vanderuit, guitarist Sean Thomas, and drummer Karl Ammitzboll. Three members—Vanderuit, Thomas, and Ammitzboll—grew up near Balnarring on the Mornington Peninsula, while Cordeux hails from Cranbourne. The band's formation occurred when Tenpin, a local group featuring Vanderuit, Thomas, and Ammitzboll, met Cordeux’s band at the Arthouse in Melbourne. In 2004, Kisschasy released two EPs on indie label Below Par Records: Darkside / Stay Awake and Cara Sposa. Their debut album, United Paper People, was recorded with producer Phillip McKellar and mixed by Barrett Jones in Seattle. The first single from the album, "Do-Do's & Whoa-Oh's", received heavy radio rotation and earned an ARIA Award nomination for Breakthrough Artist - Single at the 2005 ARIA Music Awards. Kisschasy’s second album, Hymns For The Non Believer, was produced by Chris Sheldon and released in July 2007. It included singles "Opinions Won't Keep You Warm at Night" and "Spray on Pants". In August 2009, their third studio album, Seizures, was released with producer Rob Schnapf. The band disbanded in November 2015 after a farewell tour celebrating the 10-year anniversary of United Paper People. Kisschasy reunited in June 2022 for Good Things Festival and continued touring into May 2023, releasing new music "Lie to Me" in May 2025.
