Dan Amakye Dede, born 5 January 1958, is a Ghanaian high‑life singer from Agogo who began his musical journey at Agogo Roman School before joining the Kumapim Royals as a composer and vocalist in 1973. The group, led by Akwasi Ampofo Agyei, produced hits such as "Abebi Bewua Eso" and "Ohohoo Batani". After moving to Nigeria, Dede released the chart‑winning single "Jealousy go shame" and in 1980 founded the Apollo High Kings, a band that dominated the Ghanaian high‑life scene throughout the 1980s and 1990s with albums like Iron Boy, Me Fre Wo, and Bebrebe Yi. His later work explored soca, calypso, lovers rock, and pop. He also operated the Abrantee Spot bar in Accra, where he and fellow high‑life musicians performed live.
