Divine Heresy, an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, was formed in 2006 by guitarist Dino Cazares. The group's origins trace back to 2002 when Cazares began assembling members after he departed from Fear Factory. Initially, the lineup included Tim Yeung on drums and Joe Payne on bass. Their debut album, Bleed the Fifth, was released in 2007 through Century Media Records and sold two thousand seven hundred copies in its first week. In April 2008, vocalist Tommy "Vext" Cummings left the band following an on-stage altercation. Travis Neal replaced him, and Divine Heresy released their second album, Bringer of Plagues, in 2009. By 2015, Cazares was the sole remaining member, and the group became inactive as he focused on Fear Factory.
