Sponge Cola, a Filipino rock group, was formed in 2002 and consisted of Yael Yuzon, Gosh Dilay, and Armo Armovit, all alumni of Ateneo de Manila High School. The band first gained attention with the self‑titled EP Sponge Cola (2003), featuring the track "Jeepney", which helped establish their presence in the local underground scene. Their debut studio album Palabas (2004) reached gold status in 2005. Subsequent releases include Transit (2006), Sponge Cola (2008), Araw Oras Tagpuan (2011), Ultrablessed (2014), Sinag Tala (2016), and Sea of Lights (2019). Notable hit songs include "Di Na Mababawi", "Tambay", and "Move On". The band signed with Sony Music Philippines, releasing "Lumipas Ang Tag‑Araw" (2020) and "Siguro Nga" (2020). Sponge Cola earned multiple MYX Music Awards in 2007, including Favorite Artist and Favorite Group, and continued touring internationally until the COVID‑19 pandemic halted live performances in 2020.
