Mirosław Maciej Maleńczuk is a Polish singer, guitarist, songwriter, poet, and actor born on 14 August 1961 in Wojcieszów. After leaving prison in 1983, where he had begun playing guitar, Maleńczuk spent several years performing on the streets of Kraków. He joined Püdelsi in 1986 and later founded Homo Twist in 1993, becoming the frontman of both groups. His early street repertoire was documented on Historia obyczaju (1989), Pod papugami (1989), and Piosenki z ulicy (1991), before he released Pan Maleńczuk in 1998. His subsequent solo recordings include Ande La More (2002), Proste historie (2005), and Cantigas de Santa Maria (2006). He collaborated with Wojciech Waglewski on the album Koledzy (2007) and subsequently recorded Psychodancing (2008) and Psychodancing 2 (2009) with the Psychodancing project. Maleńczuk continued with Wysocki Maleńczuka (2011), devoted to songs by Vladimir Vysotsky, and Psychocountry (2012). His later albums include Tęczowa swasta (2014), Jazz for Idiots (2016), Maleńczuk gra Młynarskiego (2017), The Ant (2018), and Klauzula sumienia (2020). Maleńczuk also served as a judge on the third season of the Polish edition of Idol in 2003–2004. In 2023, he reactivated Homo Twist, returning as the band's vocalist and guitarist, and the group released the album Spider in 2024.
