The Cash Brothers, consisting of Andrew and Peter Cash, are a Canadian alternative country/folk rock duo from Toronto, Ontario. The brothers began their musical journey independently; Andrew was part of the bands L'Étranger and Ursula, while Peter was with Skydiggers. In 1996, they started collaborating as a duo after both their respective bands disbanded. Their debut album Raceway was released in 1999 and reissued internationally in 2001 under the title How Was Tomorrow. The Cash Brothers followed up with Phonebooth Tornado in 2000 and A Brand New Night in 2003, showcasing a more electric and pop -driven sound. They toured extensively across North America and Europe, often accompanied by a backup band featuring musicians like Gord Tough and Randy Curnew.
