Antsy Pants

Antsy Pants is a name associated with American folk singer-songwriter Kimya Dawson, under which the self-titled album Antsy Pants was released in 2006 through Plan It X Records. The release came out of Dawson’s lo-fi, homemade, DIY-minded body of work, and she toured widely in North America and Europe in the years that followed. Two songs from Antsy Pants were included on the soundtrack to the 2007 film Juno, which reached number one on the Billboard 200 and earned a 2009 Grammy for best compilation soundtrack. NPR listeners also ranked Kimya Dawson and Antsy Pants 14th in their poll of the best music of 2008, giving the project a reach well beyond its independent roots.
