Chrome Hoof is a British experimental chamber rock ensemble from London established in 2000. The group was founded by bassist Leo Smee and his brother Milo Smee. They initially performed as a duo and created electronic music before recruiting additional members playing instruments such as the saxophone, trumpet, bassoon, violin, and drums. By 2007, the ensemble consisted of approximately ten members. Their recording career began with the debut eponymous studio recording Chrome Hoof (2004) followed by the studio recording Pre-Emptive False Rapture (2007). Chrome Hoof released the studio recording Crush Depth (2010) and the studio recording Chrome Black Gold (2013). Their discography included the extended play Beyond Zade (2006). The ensemble's music spans genres including metal, electro, funk, jazz, disco, and chamber music and has been described as progressive, futuristic, and psychedelic.
