Brigitte Houedji, known professionally as Bétika, was an Ivorian singer born in Bouaké. She began her musical journey in 1980 with the orchestra "Le Famesol" from Grand-Bassam, accompanying artists such as François Lougah and Antoinette Konan. Her debut album, Ma vie, was released in 1996, followed by Ah les hommes! in 2000 and Missié pardon (Fakaloh) in 2005. Bétika's music often explored themes of platonic love and human connections, earning her the moniker "L’avocate de l’Amour" among Ivorian music lovers. In addition to her singing career, she also acted in the film Un homme pour deux sœurs and the television series Ma Famille. Bétika received notable recognition, including being named the Artist Feminin of the Year 2006 and winning the Super Award for Spectacle de musique de l’année 2006.
