The Generators was an American punk rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1997. The original line-up consisted of vocalist Doug Dagger, also known as Doug Kane, guitarists Mike Snow and Sir Doosky, also known as Eric Ortega, drummer "Dirty" Ernie Berru, and bassist Rich Richards, also known as Rich Santia. The band released its debut album, Welcome to the End, on Triple X Records in 1998. By 2001, the group had released two more albums, Burning Ambition (2000) and Tyranny (2001). Throughout their career, the members experienced numerous line-up changes but maintained a core of Kane, Ortega, and Berru during the mid-2000s. Their other notable releases include Excess, Betrayal...and Our Dearly Departed (2003), The Winter of Discontent (2006), and Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea (2009). In 2016, the band released the album Earn Your Stripes and a split EP titled Blood, Sweat & Glory with the band Crashed Out. The band announced a reunion of its original line-up on September 20, 2022, but permanently disbanded following the death of Kane on May 30, 2024, due to cancer.
