Marlon Plunkett, known professionally as Kiprich, was born on March 2, 1979, in Saint Catherine Parish, Jamaica. He began his music career early, working with various soundsystems and releasing his first single "Leggo di bwoy" in 1999. His breakthrough came when he was invited to the Freddy McGregor Studios in Kingston, leading to collaborations with notable figures like Tony Matterhorn and Lexxus. His career flourished with releases on labels such as VP Records and Greensleeves Records, culminating in his debut album Outta Road in 2005. He continued to release music, including the album Drama King in 2008, and collaborated with artists like Elephant Man. He also wrote hit songs for other artists, such as "Higher Level" for Elephant Man. In 2009, he was named Star of the Month by The Jamaican Star.
