eX-Girl, a Japanese noise rock trio, was formed in 1997 by Chihiro, Kirilola, and Fuzuki. Their unique sound quickly gained attention from major retailers like Virgin Megastore and Tower Records. In 1999, eX-Girl performed at the Japan Nite event at SXSW in Austin, Texas. The band released several albums, including Kero! Kero! Kero! (1999) and Big When Far, Small When Close (2000), and toured extensively across Europe and the United States. Notable collaborations included performances with Fantômas and Siouxsie and the Banshees. Throughout their career, eX-Girl underwent multiple lineup changes. The band went on hiatus in 2007 but reunited in 2018 and performed at SXSW in 2019.
