Ralph Falcón and Oscar Gaetan, a Miami-based house-music production duo known as Murk, formed in 1991. Their early work, including the 1993 single "Bugged Out" and the compilation The Remix Collection, was followed by a major hit when "Fired Up!", featuring Pamala Williams, reached number 80 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1996. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s Murk released a series of chart-topping singles such as "All Right" and "Believe", and also operated under alternate names like Funky Green Dogs and Liberty City. The duo also remixed tracks for artists including Madonna, Pet Shop Boys, and Daft Punk, and became in-demand DJs at clubs such as Space and Crobar. Murk continued to produce new material and collaborate with vocalists such as Kristine W, Tamara Wallace, and Jennifer Carbonell, including the 2005 single "Doesn't Really Matter", maintaining their influence within the house-music scene.
