Richard Bartz, born on July 5, 1972, in München, Germany, is a German DJ and electronic music producer. Bartz began attending electronic body music and techno parties in 1988, learning the scene at the local record shop Optimal and meeting Peter Wacha and DJ Hell. Bartz's first releases appeared in 1993 under the project name Acid Scout on the label Disko B, followed by the debut album Safari in 1994. Under the same project name, Bartz released the album Musik Für Millionen in 1995, as well as the solo album Sci-Fi that same year. After founding Kurbel Records in 1996, Bartz issued the Style Wars EP (1996) and the album Escape (1996). Through Kurbel Records, Bartz released works by DJ Hell and other artists while performing internationally. Subsequent notable albums included the live album Live At Cocoon Club Ibiza (2002), the studio album Midnight Man (2004), and the analog album Big (2006), which was expanded by the live album Live at Harry Klein in 2007. In addition to music, Bartz has worked as a photographer and a multimedia and CGI artist.
