The history of Dying Phoenix goes back to 2006.
At that time, singer Pat St. James was the frontman of the Melodic Metal Band Point of Silence from Potsdam, Germany. But he already had very specific ideas about how he wanted to advance this Band. But unfortunately he couldn’t convince all members of his band of his visions, which is why he left the band soon after.
Since then, he has worked intensively to make his vision come true, piece by piece.
Unfortunately, this venture turned out to be more difficult than expected. Because he couldn’t find any suitable band members who wanted to go this way with him.
This was one reason why he soon decided to hire musicians from well-known bands. By chance he got in contact with Oliver Palotai from the band Kamelot, who offered him to step in as a producer, composer and studio musician. So the actual hour of birth of Dying Phoenix was heralded.
Almost ten years after the initial preparations, the first songs slowly took shape and brought Dying Phoenix a big step forward.
In 2019 the current line-up came together to make their live debut together in early 2020. The band was slowed down live technically by the following lockdown, but not creatively. Pat St. James used the time to write the last songs together with Oliver Palotai.
The phoenix will rise in 2022!
