B.B. & the Blues Shacks, a German blues band from Hildesheim, was formed in August 1989 by Andreas Arlt on guitar, Andreas Bock on drums, and Martin Schlockwerder on bass. Michael Arlt joined as the frontman shortly after. Their breakthrough came with an appearance at the Breminale Festival in May 1994, where they caught the attention of Thomas Ritter from Stumble Records. The band's debut album Feelin’ Fine Today was released later that year. In 1996, they were invited to perform at the Notodden Bluesfestival in Norway and won the title of most popular German blues act by readers of Bluesnews. Their third studio album, Reality Show, produced by Richard Duran, was released in 1997. In November 1999, they established their own annual blues festival in Hildesheim. B.B. & the Blues Shacks received German Blues Awards in 2010 and 2011.
