Fumiya Tanaka, born on May 21, 1972 in Fukuchiyama, near Kyoto, Japan, is a Japanese DJ, techno musician, and music producer. He began his career as a DJ in Osaka in the early 1990s and founded Torema Records in 1993. His first EP release was Four Tracks EP in 1995, followed by his debut album I am Not a DJ (1995). In 1996, he formed the group Hoodrum with Akio Yamamoto. Fumiya Tanaka's international presence grew with releases on Tresor in Germany in 2001 and launched op.disc label in cooperation with Yoshihiro Hanno in 2005. Notable collaborations include working with Ricardo Villalobos and Portable.
