Bourgeois Tagg, an American pop rock band, was formed in 1984 in Sacramento, California, by Brent Bourgeois and Larry Tagg. The duo, having relocated from Dallas to the Bay Area in the late 1970s, first played in the Sacramento outfit Uncle Rainbow before establishing Bourgeois Tagg with guitarist Lyle Workman, drummer Rick Walter, and later drummer Michael Urbano and keyboardist Scott Moon. Their debut Bourgeois Tagg was issued in 1986, produced by David J. Holman, and produced the singles "Mutual Surrender" (1986) and "The Perfect Life" (1986), the former reaching number 62 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1987, the band released the album Yoyo under Todd Rundgren’s production; its lead single "I Don't Mind at All" peaked at number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 35 on the UK Singles Chart, and number 35 on Canada’s RPM chart, while the accompanying video directed by David Fincher received extensive MTV rotation. The group disbanded in 1989 while working on a third album, after which members pursued solo projects and other musical ventures. The band reunited briefly in 2008 for a Sacramento concert supporting a kidney transplant fundraiser.
