Bloodwork, a metal band from Paderborn, Germany, was formed in 2006 by David Hambach, Nikko Schaffranek, and Frank Hürland. The group initially released a demo CD titled Demo 2007, which garnered positive reviews and was named Demo of the Month by Metal Hammer. Despite lacking a record deal, Bloodwork performed at major festivals like Wacken Open Air in 2008. Their debut album, The Final End Principle, was released under Dockyard1 Records in 2009. The band toured extensively with acts such as Hatesphere and Narziss, and their second album, Ultima Ratio, was released in 2011 under Sound Guerilla Records. Following the departure of David Hambach, Michael Torka joined as the new vocalist for their third album, Zero, released in June 2013. Bloodwork announced an indefinite hiatus in August 2014 but returned to performing in February 2018 with a new bassist, Niklas Neuwöhner.
