The Tamlins are a Jamaican reggae vocal group formed in the late 1960s, originally comprising Carlton Smith, Junior Moore and Winston Morgan. They began their career recording for producers such as Ed Wallace in the 1970s and worked as backing vocalists for artists like John Holt and Gregory Isaacs. Their debut album Black Beauty was released in 1976. The group gained prominence with their Sly and Robbie-produced version of "Baltimore" in 1979, which became one of the biggest hits in Jamaica that year. They collaborated extensively with Peter Tosh on recordings and international tours before parting ways in 1983. Morgan left the group the same year, replaced by Derrick Lara. The Tamlins continued to work with notable artists like Julian Marley.
