Charles Wayne Sexton, born August 11, 1968, in San Antonio, Texas, United States, is an American rock and blues guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. Sexton grew up in Austin, Texas, and achieved early commercial success in 1985 with his debut studio album Pictures for Pleasure, recorded at age 16. The album reached number 15 on the Billboard 200 chart and featured the Top 20 Billboard Hot 100 hit single “Beat's So Lonely”. Sexton released a self-titled second studio album, Charlie Sexton, in 1989. In 1992, Sexton co-founded the blues-rock supergroup Arc Angels, releasing the self-titled studio album Arc Angels. Sexton formed the Charlie Sexton Sextet in 1995, releasing the studio album Under the Wishing Tree, and subsequently released the solo studio album Cruel and Gentle Things in 2005. Beginning in 1999, Sexton served as the lead guitarist in Bob Dylan's touring band, contributing to the album Love and Theft in 2001 and the Oscar-winning single “Things Have Changed” in 2000.
