Mystic Circle is a German metal band from Ludwigshafen, Rheinland-Pfalz, formed in 1992. Initially playing death metal, they transitioned to keyboard-driven dark metal with their debut album Morgenröte – Der Schrei nach Finsternis (1997), followed by Drachenblut (1998). The band's early releases included the singles "Kriegsgötter" (1996) and "Schwarze Magie" (1997), as well as the live album Infernal Gods of War (1999). Their subsequent albums, such as The Great Beast (2001) and Open the Gates of Hell (2003), showcased an evolving sound with prominent keyboard elements. Mystic Circle's music incorporated themes of Satanism and anti-Christianity, leading to controversy and criticism within the metal community. In 2008, lead singer Marc "Beelzebub" Zimmer left the band. Mystic Circle reunited in May 2021, releasing the single "Letters from the Devil" (2021) and the studio albums Mystic Circle (2022), Erzdämon (2023), and Hexenbrand 1486 (2025).
