220 Volt, a Swedish heavy metal band originating from Östersund, Jämtland, was formed in 1979 by guitarists Thomas Drevin and Mats Karlsson during a mini-golf game. The group began playing internationally in 1980 and recorded their first demos in 1982, which led to the release of "Prisoner of War" b/w "Sauron" later that year. Their debut album, 220 Volt, was released in 1983 and sold 10,000 copies in Sweden alone. They toured with Nazareth in 1984 and AC/DC in 1989 before disbanding in 1992. After a hiatus, 220 Volt reunited officially in 2002 and released Walking in Starlight in 2014 via AOR Heaven.
