Rena Kyriakou, born in 1917 in Herakleion, Crete, Greece, was a pianist and composer. Kyriakou studied under Paul Weingarten and Richard Stöhr in Vienna, followed by Henri Büsser and Isidor Philipp in Paris, where she won the first prize for piano at the Conservatoire National de Paris at sixteen. Her career spanned both performing and composing, with notable recordings including a major survey of Felix Mendelssohn's piano works. Kyriakou's compositions include a piano concerto and various solo piano pieces such as "6 Preludes Symphoniques, Op. 8" and "Les Cloches" and "Burlesque, Op. 9". She passed away in 1994 in the Athens area.
