Skepticism is a Finnish funeral doom metal band from Riihimäki, Finland, formed in 1991. The group's first release was the self-published single "Towards My End" in 1991. Following the departure of its bassist and subsequent lineup changes, the band solidified into a permanent quartet consisting of a drummer, a guitarist, an organist, and a vocalist. In 1993, the band released the demo Aeothe Kaear, which led to a contract with Red Stream and the release of its debut studio album, Stormcrowfleet, in 1995. The group continued with the EP Ethere (1997) and the album Lead and Aether (1998). Following the EP The Process of Farmakon (2002), they released the album Farmakon in the summer of 2003. After releasing the album Alloy (2008), the group embarked on a European tour alongside Pantheist and Ophis. Its subsequent album, Ordeal, was released on September 18, 2015, via Svart Records. In spring 2021, the band celebrated its 30th anniversary by releasing the remastered version of Stormcrowfleet on public streaming platforms, followed by the album Companion, which was released on September 24, 2021.
