Quartette Trés Bien was an American jazz combo based in St. Louis, formed around 1960 and led by pianist Jeter Thompson. The group's lineup featured bassist Richard Simmons, drummer Albert St. James, and percussionist Percy James, who added a Latin flavor to their sound. They began recording in the mid-1960s, with the album Kilimanjaro released in 1963 on Norman Records. Their other early releases included "Joey, Joey, Joey" (1963) and "Charade" (1964). Notable albums include Boss Trés Bien (1964), Stepping Out! The Exciting Piano Rhythms of the Quartette Tres Bien (1965), and Sky High (1965). In 2014, the group was inducted into the St. Louis Jazz Hall of Fame at Harris-Stowe State University's Wolfe Jazz Institute as Trio Trés Bien, which Jeter Thompson led with his brothers Harold Thompson on bass and Howard Thompson on drums.
