Mal di Luna is the music project by Chris Glenn, a musician and DJ based in Trieste, a cosmopolitan city on the Adriatic Sea, in the north-east border of Italy.
The project was born in 2020, and took shape in 2021. On the 29th of December 2022 the first single, “MOONLIGHT”, was released.
Even if the music is meant to avoid genre limits, it has a strong gothic-rock and industrial imprint. Mal di Luna is a completely new gothic experience, the songs are various and never repetitive, and the same vocal techniques adopted by Chris Glenn are extremely different from track to track.
The lyrics have several layers of interpretation, and they are all characterized by a black and romantic soul. Sometimes they are steeped in a dark and perverse sensuality, sometimes they speak of pure, and somewhat deliberately, naive feelings.
The songs are composed and recorded with the producer Lorenzo Visintin.
Mal di Luna has also a live line-up. The live band led by Chris Glenn started to play gigs in 2023, and was immediately scheduled for the Dark Malta Festival where performed with such bands as Project Pitchfork, And One, Deathstars, Icon of Coil and many other international exponents of the gothic panorama. Mal di Luna’s live performance was acclaimed by the audience and the press.
