Victor O, whose real name is Emmanuel Valere, is a French singer-songwriter, musician, and performer originally from Martinique. Blending various musical styles ranging from folk to zouk, including pop, reggae, soul, and other Caribbean influences, he first appeared in the early 2000s as a member of the band Dafataïgazz and also performed with Gonaïves. He gained recognition as a solo artist in 2009 with the album Revolución Karibeana, which notably included the track “Aboubacar 53 %”, predicting Barack Obama’s election as President of the United States. He also performed a duet with actress Clémentine Célarié. Following the success of the song “Vini dou” in 2011, Victor O released the album Diaspora (In Tempore Conquestus) in 2014 and the EP No Limit in 2016. In the meantime, the compilation Le Collector (2009–2015) was released. In 2019, he returned with the album Suite 101, followed by several collaborations. In 2026, he achieved success with the track “Lanmou Nou”, a duet with Jocelyne Béroard that reached number 17 on the Outre-Mer Songs chart.
