Ablaze in Hatred, a Finnish funeral and death-doom group from Helsinki, was formed in 2004 by friends Juhani Sanna and Mika Ikonen. The band recorded its first demo, Closure of Life, in 2005 with drummer Antti Hakkala and bassist Miska Lehtivuori, and released it independently that September. In October, the group signed with Firebox Records, and after recording Deceptive Awareness in June 2006, the album was issued by Firedoom Music in October 2006. Their second album, The Quietude Plains, was recorded in June 2008 and released in 2009.
