Miodio, an Italian-Sammarinese band formed in 2002, consists of three Italian and two Sammarinese members. The group gained early recognition with their mini-album produced by Andrea Felli's label Acanto. In 2007, they signed with Opera Prima and released their first single "It's Ok", which was featured in the soundtrack of the movie Il Soffio dell'Anima and listed on iTunes Store. Miodio represented San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with "Complice" but failed to advance past the semi-final, placing last with only five points. They won the seventeenth edition of San Marino Festival and received awards such as 'Viva Music' and 'Best Original Song' at the 2006 Arts Festival in Bologna. In 2009, they released "Evoluzione Genetica" and performed it at Wind Music Awards. They also participated in the Newcomers' section of the 2010 Festival della canzone italiana with "Perdo contatto".
