Misery Speaks

Misery Speaks was a German melodic death metal band from Münster established in 1999. The group's relatively stable lineup formed around 2001 and included singer Claus Ulka, bassist Olaf Piasetzki, drummer Janosch Rathmer, and guitarists Florian Füntmann and Stephan Gall. Their recording career began with the demo recording Plagues of Paradise (2000) and the demo recording Psycho Trauma Phobia (2001). The ensemble released the debut studio recording Things Fall Apart (2004) and performed as an opening act for groups including Napalm Death and Vader. In 2006, the band signed with the label Alveran Records and released the eponymous studio recording Misery Speaks. After Martin Großmann replaced Pascal Berke on bass, the group released the studio recording Catalogue of Carnage (2008). Misery Speaks became inactive in 2010 after performing a final concert on 13 February in Münster. Their final studio recording Disciples of Doom was released in 2009.
