Theodora King, known professionally as Teddi King, and born on September 18, 1929, in Revere, Massachusetts, was a jazz and pop vocalist. She began her musical career in the late 1940s with local bands and was recognized by George Shearing, who took her on tours. Her first solo album was Storyville Presents Teddi King (1954). She later signed with RCA Victor and released Bidin' My Time in 1956. From 1962 onwards, Teddi King performed exclusively for the Playboy Club in New York until 1970. After her contract ended, she faced health issues due to lupus. Despite this, she had a brief comeback with This is New (1978) featuring Dave McKenna. Teddi King passed away on November 18, 1977. Posthumous albums include Lovers and Losers (1978) and Someone to Light Up Your Life (1979).
