Urgehal, a Norwegian black metal band, was formed in Hønefoss in 1992 by Trond "Trondr Nefas" Bråthen and Thomas "Enzifer" Søberg. They released demos before securing a record deal with No Colours in 1996. Their album, Arma Christi, was released in 1997, followed by Massive Terrestrial Strike in 1998. The band then switched to Flesh For Beast for the release of Atomkinder (2001) and Through Thick Fog Till Death (2003). After Flesh For Beast retired, Urgehal released Goatcraft Torment through Agonia Records in 2006. Trond Bråthen passed away in May 2012. The band released Aeons in Sodom in 2016. The band reformed in 2022 to honor former members.
