The Nip Drivers were an American punk rock group formed in 1980 in Torrance, California, by lead singer Mike Webber. Their first release, the 12" EP Destroy Whitey, appeared in 1984 on New Alliance Records, followed by the LP Oh Blessed Freak Show in 1985 on Bemisbrain/Enigma, and the 7” EP Nip Drivers in 1990 on No Reality. After a hiatus, Webber reassembled the group in the 1990s, and Taang! Records reissued their old LPs on the Destroy Whitey/Oh Blessed Freak Show CD in 2000. The band’s final performance was at the Liquid Kitty Punk Rock BBQ in West Los Angeles on August 13, 2006. Webber passed away shortly after on November 11, 2006.
