Fantômas is an American experimental metal supergroup from California, formed in 1998 by Mike Patton, Buzz Osborne, Dave Lombardo, and Trevor Dunn. The group emerged just before the dissolution of Faith No More, with Patton composing experimental tracks for the eponymous debut album, Fantômas, also known as Amenaza al Mundo, released on April 27, 1999. This album featured rapid, short songs with no lyrics, creating a frenetic musical experience. The band gained attention through tours across the United States despite unconventional music. Subsequent releases include The Director's Cut (2001), the live collaboration with the Melvins titled Millennium Monsterwork 2000 (2002), Delìrium Còrdia (2004), the calendar-themed Suspended Animation (2005), and the live album The Director's Cut Live: A New Year's Revolution (2011).
