Airbäg was a Swiss dialect rock band from the canton of Bern established in 1995. Formed as a four-member school band in Hofstetten bei Brienz, the group consisted of lead vocalist and drummer Marc Trauffer, bassist Roger Bühler, guitarist Mätel Flühmann, and keyboardist Mike Santschi. They won the Prix Walo in the newcomer category in 1997, which initiated their first successful phase. They released their debut studio album, Dumm gange, through Koch Music in 1998, followed by the single, “Weschtschwiiz”, in 1999. Their subsequent studio albums consisted of Chäs und Brot (2000) and Lueg doch (2001), both released through Koch Music. Following a three-year creative pause that began in January 2002, they returned in 2005 with their fourth studio album, Wiiber WG, released through Universal Music, which they promoted with a club and festival tour. The band dissolved after performing a final concert on May 13, 2006, at the venue Alte Moschti in Mühlethurnen, and Trauffer launched a solo career in 2008.
