Markku Juhani Peltola, also known as Markku Peltola, born on July 12, 1956, in Helsinki, Finland, was a Finnish actor, theatre actor, and musician. In the 1980s, Peltola began his music career playing bass and singing with the group Motelli Skronkle. He later released two solo albums, Buster Keatonin Ratsutilalla (2003) and Buster Keaton Tarkistaa Lännen Ja Idän (2006). Peltola was also known for his acting roles, particularly in films directed by Aki Kaurismäki, including Der Mann ohne Vergangenheit (2002), where he played the lead role. His final cultural project was establishing the Theaterrestaurant Telakka in Tampere as a cultural center. Markku Peltola passed away on December 31, 2007, at the age of 51, following a serious illness.
