The Borodin Trio was a classical music ensemble founded in 1976 by Russian violinist Rostislav Dubinsky, pianist Luba Edlina, and cellist Yuli Turovsky. The trio formed after Dubinsky, who had been the founding first violinist of the famed Borodin Quartet, emigrated from the U.S.S.R. to the Netherlands and later to the United States. The group was named after Alexander Borodin, a founder of Russian chamber music. Initially known for their recordings on Chandos Records, the trio saw Laszlo Varga replace Turovsky as cellist in 1991 or 1992. Albums include The Tree Piano Trios: Fantasiestücke Op. 88 (1990), and Piano Trios (1992). Rostislav Dubinsky passed away in 1997 and Yuli Turovsky died in 2013.
