Nocturnal Breed is a Norwegian thrash and black metal band formed in 1996 in Oslo. The group was founded by vocalist and bassist S.A. Destroyer and guitarist Ed “Silenoz” Damnator. In 1996, the band released the demo Raping the Angels. In 1997, the ensemble signed with the label Hammerheart Records and released its debut album, Aggressor. During that year, the group performed on a European tour with Emperor and Bal-Sagoth. Their subsequent studio recordings included the albums No Retreat... No Surrender (1998) and The Tools of the Trade (2000), the latter of which was released through Holycaust Records. In 2005, the band issued the box set The Remasters through Painkiller Records. The group later released the albums Fields of Rot (2007), Napalm Nights (2014), We Only Came for the Violence (2019), and Carry the Beast (2023).
