Walter Hus, born on July 2, 1959, in Belgium, is a musician and composer known for his work in contemporary music. In the 1980s, he co-founded the avant-garde group "Maximalist" and toured extensively with them. He also performed classical and improvised piano recitals and founded the Brussels Alban Berg Ensemble. Hus collaborated with various artists, including Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Wim Vandekeybus. After leaving Maximalist, he focused on composing for diverse instrumental formations, creating five string quartets between 1988 and 2006. His work includes compositions for films such as Suite 16 (1994) and The Pillow Book (1996), as well as collaborations with the Decap brothers on innovative musical instruments. In 2015, he received the Ensors Award for Best Music for his work on "N: The Madness of Reason".
