Kate Gulbrandsen

Kate Gulbrandsen, born on August 6, 1965, in Oslo, Norway, is a Norwegian singer. At age 20, she won a local singing contest and participated in the Pop Festival of 1985 in Egypt. The following year, she competed in the World Popular Song Festival in Japan, winning the Golden Award with "Carnival" by Rolf Løvland. In 1987, Gulbrandsen won the Melodi Grand Prix with "Mitt liv", co-written by Rolf Løvland and Hanne Krogh, representing Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest that year. She performed "Welcome to Lillehammer" during the 1994 Winter Olympics. After a hiatus, she released the album Vi to in 2005, featuring Norwegian versions of American country hits.
