The Go was an American rock band from Detroit, Michigan, founded in 1996 by Bobby Harlow, John Krautner, and Marc Fellis. Mentored by producer Kim Fowley, the group signed with Sub Pop in 1998 and released the debut album, Whatcha Doin' (1999), featuring Jack White on guitar. After parting ways with White, the band recorded the album Free Electricity (2001), which was never released. Personnel changes led to a signing with Lizard King Records for the self-titled album The Go (2003). The group toured as an opening act on the Elephant tour with the White Stripes but received little promotion from the label. In 2007, the band released Howl on the Haunted Beat You Ride, which won Album of the Year at the Detroit Music Awards and was approved by the Allen Ginsberg Foundation for Harlow's musical interpretation of the poem “Refrain”. Before splitting up in 2013, the group also released the album Fiesta (2013).
