Hatfield and the North, a progressive rock band from Canterbury, England, formed in October 1972. The group emerged from the Canterbury scene, evolving from the blues/jazz/rock band Delivery. They signed with Virgin Records and released their self-titled debut album in 1974, followed by The Rotters' Club in 1975. After disbanding in June 1975, Dave Stewart went on to form National Health with Alan Gowen from Gilgamesh. The band reformed briefly for a television programme in March 1990, and again in January 2005 for tours until 2006. Later releases include Hatwise Choice: Archive Recordings 1973-1975, Volume 1 (2005) and Hattitude: Archive Recordings 1973–1975, Volume 2 (2006).
