Polly Scattergood, born on October 18, 1986, in Essex, England, is an English singer and songwriter. She began her musical journey at a young age, playing a toy piano and later teaching herself guitar. After moving to London at 16, she attended the BRIT School, where she wrote over 800 songs. Her breakthrough came when she was discovered by industry executive Neil Ferris, who introduced her to Daniel Miller of Mute Records. Scattergood's debut single "Glory Hallelujah" was released in 2005, followed by notable tracks like "Nitrogen Pink" and "I Hate the Way". Her self-titled debut album was released in 2009. Subsequent releases include Arrows (2013) and Subsequently Lost (2014).
