Wilmer X is a Swedish rock band formed in Malmö in 1978 by Nisse Hellberg, Clas Rosenberg, Jalle Lorensson, and Mats Thorin. Their musical influences include rock, punk, pop, country, disco, and blues. The group achieved a nationwide commercial breakthrough in 1988 with the album Teknikens under, which featured the chart-topping title track “Teknikens under”. The band has released over eighteen studio albums, which include Fula fula ord (1982), Djungelliv (1983), ...V.I.L.D.! (1986), Tungt vatten (1986), and Popmonster (2026). In 1988, the American artist Carla Olson recorded an album in Malmö backed by members of the group, which was later re-released in 2017 as Rubies & Diamonds. Hellberg also released solo material, including the album Vad har han i huvudet? on May 21, 2014, and toured as the opening act for John Fogerty in May 2008.
