Subterranean Masquerade, a progressive metal band from Israel, was formed in 1997 by guitarist Tomer Pink. Their first release, the maxi-single "Temporary Psychotic State", gained underground acclaim in 2004. In 2005, they released their debut album, Suspended Animation Dreams. After reforming in 2013 with new members, including drummer Matan Shmuely and guitarist Or Shalev, they released the EP Home that year. Their second album, The Great Bazaar, was released in 2015 featuring Kjetil Nordhus as the main vocalist. The band's third studio album, Vagabond, was widely praised upon its release in 2017. In 2020, during the COVID-19 crisis, they released The Pros & Cons of Social Isolation and signed with Sensory Records for their next album, Mountain Fever, in 2021.
